The "whims" of nature

"Americans have never left our destiny to the whims of nature – and we will not start now."
George Bush, September 15, 2005
Yes, according to Western Civilization, nature is like a woman--variable, sneaky, perverse-- and like a black--brutish, nonsensical, rebellious. Nature has to understand that it exists to serve our purposes, our whims. Nature had better fall in line.
I think of all of the indigenous persons through all the history of the world who place the highest value on living harmonious as part of nature, who understand themselves this way.
The perverse vision of humanity as some sort of patent-leather-booted dominatrix, cracking the whip over the back of the natural world and its human representatives, has brought us to the verge of annihalation as a species.
Doubt not, the earth will continue after we are gone.
I speak here unequivocally of white arrogance and of male arrogance.
It is this nihilistic and arrogant world view that unites Fallujah and New Orleans and Darfur and 7-7 and 9-11 and privatization and corporate imperialism and each of the thousand-and-one things people like me go on about.
How absurd it is to think that the thinkers who thought the world into this mess in the first place could possibly think us out of it now.
George Bush actually talked about "racial inequality" last night. So the President of the white world has proclaimed it time to talk about race, just like Blair and company put "tackling poverty in Africa" on their agenda a few months ago. They decide on the agenda, the discourse.
I am distressed by the arrogance of assuming myself a teacher of anything. I resist the idea of becoming some sort of teacher to other whites even about race, because frankly, I really know very little about humility. I have splinters in me of that same appalling white arrogance.
It has been blacks who have taught me the things which saved my life and my humanity. Whites cannot save themselves, much less anybody else.

". . . --variable, sneaky, perverse-- . . . --brutish, nonsensical, rebellious."
* but in reality this culture exhibits these characteristics. the paradigm allows for perversity because of this focus: "they think they've reached the ultimate" . . .
. . . but in reality "they haven't reached no way yet . . . " seperation of the god from the earth, the elite from the mass, the will from the circle of life. "love is the law, love under will" "do what thou will shall be the whole of the law"
neoconservatism is really the essence and reality of western civilization UNMASKED:
"those who are fit to rule are those who realize there is no morality and that there is only one natural right – the right of the superior to rule over the inferior."
"This dichotomy requires "perpetual deception" between the rulers and the ruled, according to Drury. Robert Locke, another Strauss analyst says,"The people are told what they need to know and no more." While the elite few are capable of absorbing the absence of any moral truth, Strauss thought, the masses could not cope."
"Because Strauss viewed religion as absolutely essential in order to impose moral law on the masses who otherwise would be out of control.
"At the same time, he stressed that religion was for the masses alone;
the rulers need not be bound by it.
Indeed, it would be absurd if they were, since the truths proclaimed by religion were "a pious fraud."
Arrogance based on ignorance created by the collective blindspot of the focus of western civilization.
