Title: Revolution
Post by: Rootsie on August 26, 2003, 03:03:39 AM
Blow the Man Down

Let righteousness cover the earth like the waters cover the sea.

As the waves roll and roll, kick it over flip it over turn it over

And over and over. It ain’t over till it’s over.

The wrathful deity turns over
In his ghastly sleep
Uprooting giant trees
Sending mountains crashing seaward
And tossing us about like flotsam
On the roiling waves.
There is no hope no harbor anywhere.
Nowhere to hide. No inside.
We can only ride it out till the fury subsides.
Where to stand that is not shifting, sinking sand?

Only at the still point,
At the calm and empty center,
Only from there can we master,
Can we muster the power
To see and seize the hour
And turn it over and over and over
Till it is the most fertile blackest soil.

If a fire mek it burn and if a blood mek it run
Kill cramp and paralyze all weakheart conceptions
Wipe them out of creation.

Turn it over see it new:
Revolution is what happens
Inside of you
We see the suffering radiate
From this very place
Like a 50’s sci-fi death ray
Emitting evil beams.
And ones like us say to the world no way
Does this speak for me!
I rebuke it! No one consulted me!
This is not on me!
But it is you see.
For we benefit directly.

Let this idea turn over in you mind:
What do you want your conduct to express
To the rest of humankind?
